We’re going to chat about two very important things. You can’t, and shouldn’t have one without the other. First, there’s your engagement ring. Below you’ll see some beautiful engagement rings we found, that are more on the unique side. They have different cut diamonds, some have an unfinished look to them, and other have a vintage flare to them that we absolutely love. Secondly, you need to find the right jewelry insurance to protect it. The last thing you want to think about after saying yes to the proposal of your dreams, is losing the ring. Horrible thing to bring up after you’ve invested in it both financially and emotionally, we know. Sadly, it does happen.
In fact, according to claims received by Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company, provider of Perfect Circle® Jewelry Insurance, loss accounts for nearly one third of all jewelry claims received.
Acquiring jewelry Insurance is an easy and important step in protecting your ring. Insurance is a cost everyone should build into their budget for purchases of valuable jewelry items. Sites like PerfectCircleInsurance.com offer handy premium calculators so you can easily get a quote and apply for coverage. Finding the appropriate insurance for your engagement and wedding ring in advance will alleviate the anxiety associated with even the most extreme cases of loss.
Miss me?! I was so excited when the original BSB Jessica reached out to me for this guest post! Life as a newlywed has been quite busy — Matt and I left our beloved New York City only two weeks after our wedding in favor of opportunities south of the Mason Dixon line! We relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina only a few months ago, and while we will always have much love for the city that brought us together, Raleigh has been an exciting new adventure!
One of the final items to check off of the wedding to-dos (post-move) was to create our wedding album. Our photos turned our absolutely amazing, thanks to my good friend Adena at Studio A Images, and I’ve been eager to put together an album that tells the story of our memorable/fun/crazy/hot day.
Enter my new friends at Libby James. Their mission is right up my alley — helping DIY brides to create stunning, professional wedding albums. As someone who knows what she likes, but doesn’t always know how to do that herself, the Libby James site and software gave me excellent direction on creating a high-end album that reflected the personal, modern style of our wedding day.

Rebecca and David
Rebecca and David chose Rebecca’s aunt’s property Mindaribba House for their Hunter Valley country wedding. Not stopping with one aunt, Rebecca’s other aunt, Helen English is renowned for her beautiful wedding gowns and of course was called upon when Rebecca walked down the aisle. Cavanagh Photography captured the dreamy wedding photographs filled with golden light, green grass and plenty of stolen kisses.
Rebecca tells their story. “Dave and I met a pub in Paddington. He was celebrating his AFL grand final and I was out for dinner with a friend. We were introduced through a mutual friend.”
Annie & Pontus
I’ll admit it- the spring blooms in today’s Spring engagement photos had me at hello. What an incredible backdrop for beautiful photos! Photographer Jessica Lund captured this stunning engagement session in Sweden.

I LOVE THIS WEEK’S WEDDING! I know this DIY Neo-Traditional Wedding is wintry and a bit out of season for these hot summer months but I thought it might help cool y’all down a bit! (it’s hot as HADES in NYC so I’ll welcome even a pretend reprieve from this heat!) This couple had their reception at a Piano Bar (AWESOME!) and served their guests pizza, salad and cupcakes! Perfect and fun for their intimate wedding! Hope you enjoy this edition of the BSWOW! xoxo-Jessica
This gorgeous shoot, that took place in a clearing under several evergreen trees at Raspberry Plain in Leesburg, Virginia, will inspire winter brides that don’t want their wedding to be Christmas-themed. Full of woodsy inspiration, this shoot incorporated vintage glamour with beautiful florals designed by Country Way and vintage decor from Bella Villa Antiques and Vintage Rentals.

Kellie & Gavin
I’ve been watching Downtown Abbey lately, I’m only a few episodes in but when I read today’s couple Kellie and Gavin are so in love with the show that they wanted to evoke the same feeling for their wedding, I knew it was set to be a beauty. Kellie describes the day as “Downton Abbey meets English Country Garden ” and I think they nailed it!
Kellie tells how they met. “Gav and I met back in early 2005 when I landed a job at a laboratory where he was working. As the year went on we became very good friends and realised that we just had so much in common, sharing the same sense of humour, values and we just really enjoyed being together… and he is just such a sweetheart! We began dating later that year, and the rest is history! Our relationship was at first a slow burn for me, but he still maintains that for him, it was love at first sight! I couldn’t imagine my life without him!”
